“Our greastest truths are the ones we accept”
I am a self-taught artist from New York most often known by my artist name Danny Ocean. With my bare hands I’m carving my path through creativity, vulnerability, and self-discovery. Art has always been my anchor—a place of solace, expression, and escape. As a child, I drew to navigate my anxiety and find my voice when words failed me. For a while, I left it behind, caught up in the illusions of adulthood. But in 2016, I returned to art, this time with intention, pouring myself into painting by night while working in a pharmacy by day. Art became my lifeline, a way to rediscover who I was beneath the layers of projection.
A move to Virginia in 2018 reshaped my world, offering community, spiritual growth, and the courage to create more fearlessly. Through acrylics, oils, clay, and unconventional materials like fabric and even food, I learned that art is not about perfection or talent—it’s about exploration, healing, and the stories we can’t always articulate but somehow capture in our work. My creations are not separate from me; they are extensions of my experience, cultivating the life I intend on living.
I believe in the power of authenticity. Healing my inner child, redirecting societal expectations, and creating intuitively, I’m embracing a life where freedom and audacity reign. Beyond the canvas, I write poetry, freestyle rap, and seek a greator innerstanding of the role I play in this lifetime. My dream is to live as an artistic nomad, off the grid , embracing a sustainable, minimalist lifestyle engulfed by moments, memoirs and meaning. I hope my journey inspires others to unearth their truth, trust their process, and remember: life is not about the material but rather moments that shape us. And remember your not here to prove shit to mortals!
